This morning I caught on tape for the first time the baby flipping himself over onto his stomach, completely unaided. Morning is our time together. He bring me bliss with his blissful oblivion of me, sucking his thumbs, smiling fleetingly into indefinite distance, yawning, preoccupied with a vague vision of his surroundings. In a 300+ billable month, I came home every night in wee hours, stole into his room watching him breathing peacefully besides Dongdong, his now well-defined profile glowing faintly in darkness, and the long eyelashes, before backing out and collapsing onto bed, often without bothering with showering.
Dongdong told me Apo saw him flipped himself over for the first time on Oct 8. I watched him attempting it many times without success afterwards. Until yesterday, when I came home Dongdong said he had been doing it consistently the whole day, as if that first stroke of genius a month ago suddenly came over him again like a flood.
